  • It took a while but my zero gravity brakes just showed up. Jesus christ are they pretty.[quote=gusyup.;494513]

  • We've only been doing it since the middle of 2008... Good grief! ;]

Cheers, missed it today, but definitely next week.

  • Help,
    i got this frame...

    which i'm in love with.
there is one problem its a 52in frame and acording to every bike shop it will be "uncomfortably small" (i'm 6ft1)
so the question now is do i:
    a) not listen to bricklane bikes, build it anyways and ride it till my back snaps?
    b) sell it?
    c) dip it in gold and wear it around my neck?

  • 52cm you mean..

it's way small for you. but if you love it, ride it! fuck your back..

  • You could do what this champ did when he bought a frame that was too small for him...

    gag

That'll probably be unridable. I am 6ft and my lo pro is 63cm and I would say that is a little small for me.

  • seriously sell it, there's nothing worse than a frame that doesn't fit you, take it from me, I used to cycle on a Peugeot that was 52cm as well (my height required a 57cm frame).

  • cut off feet?

  • cut off feet?

Any pics of your BMC yet? Itching to see that . . .

  • dont listen to them, get one of these

    and one of these

thatll increase the seat and top tube lengths.
    worth a shot

if you're a big fella, it will look terrible tho. Best thing is to sell and buy a frame that fits you from the money earned, as ed said

  • "seriously sell it, there's nothing worse than a frame that doesn't fit you"
i wouldn't worry, 70% of forum members ride bikes that don't fit them.

  • a 52 frame for a 6'1" fella is stupid.
Might aswell just buy a bmx frame.
Shoe horning yourself on to such a small bike won't work.
Don't get me wrong, everything is possible this day and age, but that is asking a lot.
    Sell it. End of.

if it was a 54 or 55 you may have gotten away with it.
im presumably supposed to fit 56's but prefer riding a 53

Oh, but as long as it is a Track bike/Lo Pro/Made of out dated tubing(531)/Has track ends* then it doesn't matter :-)

    *Delete as appropriate

some early pics on my blog - working on new pics this weekend...

Ouch! That's so bad it's not good.

That is one seriously sexy frame......well....if you do decide to sell it ;)

  • ^what bars are they?

They are vintage ITM but I've no idea what the model is called. I've seen Soma do some similar shaped ones called Arc bars but they have some awful logo on them. The swoop back on them has made the stem feel a bit short so I might have to change it for a longer one but it's one of those 70's ttt one's with the record, size and ttt cut outs. I feel it is going to be damned impossible to find another one.

  • thanks everyone.. i'll have a think and maybe a test week of riding.

  • some early pics on my blog - working on new pics this weekend...

Nice one Fred - that BMC is looking all business, i am a very jealous man right now!

  • ^where ya been dude?

  • That BMC goes head to head with the best of em Fred.
Also can i i say this photograph is stunning.

was it you who took it ? really is a one off Fred.

  • cheers :-) there are better photogs on the forum than me though!

a few more trix shots here if you're interested...

And here's my current project (tenuously bike related):

taking photos of people's new bikes. It's not specifically aimed at the forum, but I'd be happy to do mates rates...

  • I'm 6'1, so what size frame should I be looking for?
I'm on a giant pug conversion at the mo, its too big, the headtube is as long as my arm.

about 57cm, but go to Condor or Evans and get yourself sized up.
