I've defo seen one with a brake.
S'a carbon fork so they'd more likely swap it fer a road one.
The straight Alpina one looks pretty similar.
They'll do anything if yer pay.

i know somebody who rides one on the road, i think it has the deda fork with the bigger carbon weave and carbon steerer it's fitted with a front brake

I love the Lavoro, it looks really nice, always wanted one

you and mr smith can go for a ride in your matching pink and black rapha kit as well :p

They gave me the option of either fork at the same price when I bought my Pista.
The Deda BlackForce is is much better fork (get the LawyerLips filed off!), but the Alpina looks better on the Lavoro. Same one that Dolan supplies: I found the finish to be very poor.

I know a fella with a lavoro and he rides it on the road. Its bloody stiff and London not having the smoothest roads - you've got to lok after precios cargo - maybe ride it with a Brooks saddle.
Its a lovely bike and he does have the fromt fork drilled. The Alpina forks can be drilled.
I really want one too - it came out just after i bought my black pista - but now the gold old skool pista is looking hot too...
Just waiting to get our officeo n the cycle scheme nad then i'll put an order in...ready for summer.
Got the mitts out this morning - felt good - even though a bit cold. -

Why am I lazy exactly? (Not that the scenario you have painted appeals much).

Like the idea of one of these as a change from my pista...bit concerned about Alu fatigue though....anyone ditched one of these puppies?
I'm a lightweight 12.5st, and pretty smooth on the road. (oo-er)
Cheers All.

How long you had it fella? Daily use etc?

I've got a 2002/3 alu Condor Pista. No signs of fatigue yet, despite:
- hillclimbs (some 'elite' level)
- century rides (all seasons)
- occasional track use
- timetrialling
- 'stressful' training like standing starts, overgeared climbs, blah
I've killed a steel audax bike and a steel SS mtb doing similar stuff. Not saying steel is more prone to failure. Just poo-pooing alu myths.

Not .long at all, in fact i only used it twice before increasing the gearing and putting it away for the track.
When my girlfriend locked our bikes up she caught the top tube with the lock and it took a chunk of paint off, which pleased me no end.
Since then its been in my bedroom but still looks to be getting scatched, wouldn't say i mistreated it but i'm not careful either so it could be just me.

Yeah. Those alu bikes out there aren't going to suddenly fall apart. Condor wouldn't be making them if it didn't work.
I've heard the Lavoro to be very unforgiving, really only for a nice smooth indoor track. The one from a couple of years ago with The Mill style decals looked bloody lovely though.

Rode it twice at HH before the winter and it was bloody lovely, noticed how high it felt though riding down to the track, not sure i'd have it as an every day bike cause of that.

Height could be a clincher....
Hmm. Balls.
Bike thieves should be castrated.
Just discovered that i may be able to afford to replace my now very battered Peugeot and have been looking at the Condor Lavoro, anyone rid/ got one?
Also would Condor be able to/willing to drill the fork. Had a search on the forum and they seem to be able to spec pretty much anything with a bitch of a lead in time, but seem to be quite good otherwise...
(Also looking at purchasing a horse, Range Rover and black Labrador. All whilst living in Elephant & Castle, regularly braying at little Cynthia and Giles who live with their mumsey in Berks.)
Natch.
