Single-speed... I just don't get it

Reasons why I like SS over fixed

• No pedal strike on corners or kerbs

• You can eliminate toe overlap by leaving your foot back when taking a sharp turn

• Reaching 40mph down a hill by doing nothing except sitting on the saddle has to be one of the most fun things to do on a bike!

(I had thought of about 20 different things when deciding between fixed and ss but can't think of them now)
you do have point there, you can take the piss on an ss! i've got a couple of ss mountain bikes, but i don't ride them very often because i'm riding my brown bsa fIxed beater conversion... which is quite fun... smooth and silent... i just like riding bikes generally... its a laugh and gets you around london for free with no waiting in traffic jams and no parking restrictions. end of?
