Just adding this, poor fucker, not my bike. South London.
Had a car stolen after I'd finished loading my brand new Specialized Pitch Pro in the back with a load of gear after a ride. Little sh*ts had been watching me behind a parked car and came running out flashing blades demanding the keys. I reluctantly handed them over partly out of shock and partly out of not wanting to end up in hospital or a morgue.
mine was a size small.
The other distinguishing feature was Maxxis Highrollers, that bike has the original supplied Speicalized tyres on it.
I was actually picking it up from a mates house who drove us to Surrey to ride, it was between West Dulwich and Tulse hill.
They were masked and hooded, so I can't identify them if they can't find DNA evidence they'll never be caught. Its pretty annoying..

A 'Jim Soens' fix stolen from outside The Prince, Nevill Road Stoke Newington. Wednesday night 10.30 pm.
Much loved. It's old but recently re-enameled and like bikes here a one off.
- Jim Soens decals on down tube, cross tube and headstock
- Creme/White frame with chrome rear stays and forks.
- Mavic rims on Suzue Hubs (different to pic, wheels in pic were stolen 2 months ago)
- Brooks on a Campag Record post
- Cutoff bars and brown leather tape on a Nitto Pearl stem
I've had this bike stolen once before and after 10 years in the wild it came back to me. I'm hoping the same will happen again.
Much appreciated. Please PM me if you see anything.

Its not all bad out east. I live in E10 and its nice, quiet and (relatively) crime free. Almost like living in the countyside.
@ Jim Soens, how was your bike locked?
-
• #1236
My own fault in some ways. For some reason I'd made a mess of locking it up and they could just walk away with it. God knows how - I've used my lock literally a 1000 times but for some reason I just wasn't concentrating. I feel pretty stupid
Despite the theft I like East London.

Damn, I wish it was but it's quite different to mine. Thanks for the heads up tho.

as long you locked it properly, in the right place/area, and at a reasonable length of time, it won't happen.
is there a right place to lock a bike? in the open or out of site... i'm not certain obviously if you put it in the open it is on show but also potential 'eyes on the street work to deter crime'. if you lock it out of site it doesn't get noticed but if it does it's easy to steal. this is a conundrum.

i think he was refering to the fact that its got to be stolen, rather than its got to be yours.

there is, putting it in an slightly isolated location would dramatically increased the chance of it getting stolen, i.e. locking your bike outside the train station is a high risk option.
locking your bike on a railing in the middle of the road is less likely to get it stolen, as long it´s very visible, with CCTV camera about, and busy too.

Well, does not work all the time: my black gothic Langster got nicked this afternoon on Sloane Street on one of these "bike parks" on the pavement. Who steals a black Langster for god's sake?
-
• #1243
people who's clever enough to realise that any black (and usually not very glossy) bike are very common in London and hard to get spotted with a stolen bike.

Still - I would have hoped thieves would have had a little better taste. Am done with OTP, now to really shabby conversions.

Guys
I know it's a bit wierd to post this. I got my 2 bikes stolen within a month. One is a folding bike I shipped from over sea. The other one I bought it from Gumtree with documents just 2 weeks ago.
The story is I lost the Giant scr2 couple days ago which is my first ride with 2 brand new locks.
When I checked the CCTV, the guy followed me and stole my bike 10 seconds after I left the bike. Whole the process was less than 1 min... I feel so deperate as I even booked a train ticket to edinborough and planedto cycle back to London.. I went down to Brick Lane today but didn't find my bikes. I do hate people there. They treat our right to cyclie as shit...I know it's a place to exchhnge thoughts of fix wheel and single speed. But we may make effort toghether to stop living in the fear as a passionate cyclist.
Here are two ads I put on Ebay.

BTW, as an international student, I really lost the confidence cycling in London...Chiyu

I used the small one to lock my front wheel whith the frame and the rack, and then big lock
for the rear wheel and the rack. The folding one was stolen just outside of high street kensington tube station. Giant Scr wat stolen in front of Royal College of Art, next to Royal Albert Hall. I have no idea where these mother fxxxers are gonna sell them. So I just nicked down to Brick lane today and stay there from 0830 to 1400.It was really bad experience. Those gansters kept watching me as I kept walking around and talk
to those sellers if they sell road bikes. On my way for the lunch, 2 guys even stopped their car and got down the window asking me if I need a brand new laptop. What hell the world is?After I did a bit research, I realise that not only one spot selling dodge bikes, as I found the mobile num from Gumtree's ads repeat at least for 10 times...I kind of give up.
However, I just don't accept that a cyclist doesn't have right to buy his or her dream bike and enjoy it without fear. Which is what I've been told by the police officers in South Ken. Sigh...
So sorry about somplaining these shxxts and my poor english. I'm still in my first upset week, has gone out. Indeed, this is not people's fault. People are happy to make easy money and buy own stuff at the price as cheap as possbile. So whose bad? Too complicate to work out and might be pointless. Hahaha. Anyway, my friends here, enjoy your bikes while they are still with you!!
Best
Chiyu
