  • i didn't take many photos so i'll pop them all up on here, i do hope that doesn't put anyone out...

I really like this one, nice shot!

  • with the success of this run, there should be another one next year! who know probably be even better!

This is what cycles were made for... screw the HHSB stuff.

Another run in late Spring? An April or May soiree?

Murtle had a fine point about being a tourist attraction near the Tate... perhaps we should take ourselves out into the country? Or better still, pack what adds up to the largest country picnic and find a destination for us all... Henley Regatta anyone?

  • summer 2009 Tweed Ride with similar 22 miles ride with Hyde Park as a picnic ground during the mid-ride?

since the daylight is much longer in the summer, it should be even more enjoyable.

  • Is there going to be another one? I think I might jump on th eurostar and come along

Wouldn't it be great to take the Tweed Run to Paris and see what they make of it?

    That's what I was thinking!
We should roll up to L'Arc de Triomphe and halt the traphic there while everyone rides through. CHAOS haha.

  • My friend Lukas posted a few more pics from the start - looking good, people:

  • I had a great time thanks for all the effort everyone put in, seeing peoples faces was great fun in itself

  • A fantastic day, huge thanks to Teddy, all the organisers, Charco for the cards and everybody else for making this such a great day. As we pulled down the mall, i heard a woman ask her friend what it was all about, and he replied "I have no idea, but it's a truly beautiful sight.' Enough said! Cheers!

  • Massive thanks to Teddy for inspiring and organising such a wonderful day..

Big thanks to everyone else for helping make the ride so great (special mention to Bernie and Snowy for aiding me with pre-ride puncture problems)

Thanks to anyone taking pics for helping me savour the memories aswell!

Also, Charco could we have another run of the spoke cards please? I'd be more than happy to donate to a little bit more to charity and would love another memento.. From what I hear there are quite a few of us looking for spoke cards ;)

    Much love

  • We should do a tweed run for the Goodwood Revival

  • Yorgo, that is an absolutely brilliant idea. That would really be something. Count me in. Oh and nice to meet you yesterday!

  • Yeah.. I need a spoke card too. I never found Charco before the end.. are there any left?

  • We should do a tweed run for the Goodwood Revival

That would be bloody brilliant - its far though isn't it?

  • That would be bloody brilliant - its far though isn't it?

    About 60 miles each way.

The hardcore could ride it easily. The rest of us could get the train down to the coast and ride the 20 - 30 miles from there.

  • hello old sport. i say, i say! what a most extraordinary day!

i have a few thank you’s and doff of the caps to give.

first off, a round of cheers for the sponsors and prize donors: brooks, hendrick’s gin, rapha, the chap magazine, dashing tweeds, david saxby, geo f trumpers, hudson hats, huntsman, intersection magazine, tour de ville and what goes around comes around. and of course congratulations to all the prize winners.

special thanks go to hendrick’s gin for laying on the drinks and the end venue, tour de ville for putting up with the early evening tweed invasion, and to h huntsman & sons for being such jolly good sports about it all.

thank you 105champ for the megaphone. he’s donated it to the forum, so to anyone planning an event let me know and i’ll pass it on. good bit of fun, those contraptions!

a giant thank you to cornelius, dancing james, jacqui, pinkgottimobbs and superprecise for keeping us all on the up and up.

well done charco for the spoke cards, and ved for the 531 is awesome pins. we raised £215 for bikes4africa, which is a bloody good show!

and i do think another tweed outing is in order.
