  • I quit at new year. I have also given up drinking for January and this has helped more than anything. I know from bitter experience that it's the booze which brings on the cravings the most. I am absolutely clucking for a drink but I hope that a month off will go some way to breaking the association. If you expect to feel a lot better straight away, don't: I coughed more shit up after my morning commute than when I was on the tabs. Week 3 is better. Do it.

Have done exactly the same. No drink so far and feeling flipping great. No hacking cough cycling up the hill in the morning and dropping the booze has made it far easier. It is fucking boring at times but I feel pretty good. And am felling better day by day. Haven't missed a meal since start of January and that's a first too. Am thinking of staying off the booze on through Feb as am saving a fortune.

Good luck with it all. Cycling is loads more fun when your lungs work.
