  • In order to keep it simple, hands on top of the bars is what we tell inexperienced racers.
    There is another technique/position that is more difficult to master. Simon Jackson showed it to me and explained why it worked. It has certainly made a difference to my best time, if it did take me a while to get right. There are a few others that have improved using this position too, Hillbilly for one.

    If you put your hands on the drops it is possible to carry most of your weight with your arms and very little with your legs. Placing yourself forwards on the tip of the saddle brings your hips over the BB, helping you to spin faster. This replicates a good TT body position.

    +1. Its done wonders for my time's. I wont to try and get on the sub 20 board by the end off the season. So its time for me to start taking it easy on the old booze.
