Good call on St Peter's It's absolutely delicious - they only just recently started selling in supermarkets, but for some years have been available at their only pub, the Jerusalem Tavern in Clerkenwell. There's a range of bottled and barrelled ales there to keep you coming back for weeks.

Still find myself thoroughly enjoying a pint of Theakstons Old Peculiar - plenty of flavour and %. Kind of nice real ale's gone a bit more "mainstream" - it's all over the place now. Bit of a shame you can't enjoy it with a rolly like you used to, but I guess I'd rather live longer given the choice..?

Two of my favourites, but you can't beat a proper pint of Guinness IMO. Also been known to enjoy London Pride.

bit of west cunry class there Ved. you are missing the king of the land - HSD

London pride is the one to set your appreciation of the pubs beer keeping. i have only really had three really good pints of pride in london. its a tough one.
Exmoor beast has to be tried on tap (doesn't bottle well)
I am with Hassanr - Bath ales are one of the finest and keep their taste from the bottle. very smooth and light, borderline summer ales..

Spitfire is a worthy one

if you like Spitfire (IMO it's a touch one dimensional) try Old Empire
Has slightly more tinder in the taste, conjures up a sense of bonfire nights and brisk autumns. Very full bodied but has a surprisingly sweet after taste. -

It may seem heresy to puritans, but Guinness mixed with sweet condensed milk (and sometimes eggs) is what Caribbean and African people know very well.
Sweet-tooth? Definitely.
Like an alcoholic milkshake, but Guinnessy.

Beer and I have had a falling out. We have had a strained relationship for some time, and I think its best we part company. It got ugly last night.

I can highly recommend Trappistes Rochfort 10, a very strong, robust, complex ale. Thick and dark, it develops in the mouth. Quite a strong taste of alcohol (it's over 11%), and a couple of glasses sets your head to spin. Quite lovely, not had the 8 or the 6.
From America there's Anchor Porter, from the ever-reliable Anchor brewery. A porter, obvs, but unlike the monks beer, far more quaffable.
Both well liked on Beer Advocate.

No ratio mate, mix to taste. Slide the condensed milk sneakily down the side of the glass, that already is 2/3 full of Guinness. Slowly mix, as quick mixing will have the whole thing froth over the top.My identical twin likes egg in his, but I just think that fucker is just weird! Try with milk, but no egg. You'll love it. If one night, you feel like you need extra energy for a romantic one-to-one Wrestlemania/Smack-Down, then stick an egg in there.
:)
My favourite beers are Belgian or Bavarian wheat beers, especially Kristallweizen. You can get Erdinger or Schneider in a bottle here or Erdinger on tap in London pubs, but it's nothing compared to the stuff you get in Bavaria.
