Out of interest eddie, what paint and technique did you employ for your touching up duties? My Raleigh beater needs a similar makeover.
mate, i firstly scrapped all the crap off the frame with soap, water and white spirit.
Then took some exterior antique white and black paint from B&Q. That works perfectly on metal and leaves a lacquered finish (make sure its exterior) and with a small brush touched up all the flakes. Then gave it a little polish and presto it looks almost new.
