... helping kenyan kids.
Obama's gonna do that!

i like moogs idea, but surely everyone in the whole world would be prepared to pay a little more say £20 for a chance to own a really nice bike then the charity and server could be fed for quite a while!
-
• #54
moog how is the raffle idea going to work out?
how are people going to pay and how is it going to be kept.
if the raffle actually works i would like to raffle away, my other bike
3 Rensho -

Maybe a split between the moving mountians charity and a more bike related/forum cause? Completely down to bush bros in the end though.

• #56
I'll buy the 3Rensho.

get one of the forum friendly bike shops such as cavendish to hold the bike for you, people can view it there and then buy a raffle ticket from the shop or on an online account such as paypal.

£20 gets you a ferrari it seems

how does a bike forum work? in terms of funding?
-
• #60
Raffle could either work online (not sure on the PayPal fees but there might be a way for doing it for free), or tickets could be made and then bought at drinks/polo. Not sure what would work best or what people would prefer.

i dont have a ferrari but i have an aston martin and i can tell you it costs way more than 20 pounds

you don't say!
one of the comments reminded me of those supercar raffles that are sometimes at airports, that is all.
i have a rusting morris minor, suprisingly even that cost more than twenty notes.

• #64
for everyone who wishes to buy a raffle, i'll set up a competition soon,
keep you posted. -

Now you just being a complete wanker. The dude at the start said he will take it end of. How can you say who deserves it, and why cant the charity be based in the uk?
-
• #66
those Ferrari things are open to way more people!
the forum's expense is the server that it runs on and this is funded basically from velocityboys pocket, things like t shirts and parties add money and so do the adverts seen by visitors to the forum. but by the sounds of it money is beginning to run a little short, so obviously this kind of input would go a long way to funding the future of the forum, and obviously it could be split between other charities!

• #67
thanks brucy the kenyan kids will appreciate it

He can say and decide what the hell he wants.
edit: that was to brucy

I would not give it anybody they are a bunch of time wasters putting dibs on things then never paying or backing out because of some lame excuse, and if you live outside London you have stolen everything.
You still havn't contacted me about the seatpost you put dibbs on.
;)

ed i know, i was just poking a bit of fun- the likelyhood of winning those cars is sooo low- seems they run the raffles for at least a year easily covering the cost of the car/stall/staffing costs etc, it is a business after all out to make a profit.
