  • Stupid question, but if you get a circular tat (like I have planned) on your shoulder and bulk up or put on weight, will it still look right? I guess that if you get it right on the centre it would be OK?

  • It's a chainring.

See that's the skill of being a lawyer...my eye for detail...DOH!

  • MattBadDesigner has designed something for me which I can't wait to get done, probably going to be early Feb. So stoked on it.

  • um, i'll have a think.

It's not really the sort fo thing i'd be into, so i'll do a drawing in a style that I like, but you probably won't.

In other words, If I do it, it's ok to say no.

it should still look fine as a circle on the undulating surface of the body is never going to be 'perfect'... obviously if you eat loads of pies and folds appear it isn't going to look good. but building up muscle mass wont affect it realistically

For example if someone got a band round their arm and later developed bingo wings it would look more like a slide than circle.

if that's in response to my request cheers mate that'd be great. Err if not sorry for wasting yer time.

  • I'm not a big fan of the flaming suns I've seen (on google), but like the idea of incorporating a sprocket, or at least using the shape instead of flames. It wouldn't be instantly recognisable as a sprocket. I just need to find a decent face design to put in the centre.

  • my friend has this on his back. 'tis awesome. i myself am quite a fan of the sun in general.

  • Not really cycling but fucking sick nonetheless

  • pistanator all mine are escher.

superprecise, cheers man. this is the finished piece and the latest one.

  • i hadn't realised they are all escher! that really unifies them i think which is important for me (i have none by the way, lots of freckles though)

  • Dale that carp one is stunning!

  • Dale, That looks awsome. Did Silvia finish it off?

    QFT

    excellent stuff

  • I've actually been doing some sun sketches today, thanks to your post mr littigator.

But I'm not thinking of the charinring as being the sun, but more like some one put it in front of part of the sun and the rays are extending behind it...

looks more interesting than it sounds, really.

That and i've been painting some really frightening rabbits.

  • With sharp pointy teeth?

  • Best out of these 2?

Both done in London. I'm going to see both artists and trying to decide.

  • sharp pointy teeth, claws, and really really big eyes. I'm using black ink to do most of it, then after it dries I use bleech to create the white bits, which end up more like a bright yellow/orange. The colour of glowing, really.

  • That sounds good. Are these for possible tattoos?

The sharp pointy teeth was a monty pithon reference.

  • fresh - i'd say the right one, the shading is more coherent

yep, 15 hrs total, wraps right around. funny that is almost 3 years ago, has mellowed a bit into bluish hue and looks better.

    ditto.

  • It looks really good. I need to go back and get mine extended to my elbow but it just costs so much. I also need to come up with what I actualy want.
