Most people I've met seem to wear functional cycling helmets if anything at all. I'm liking the look of these Bern ones though, for the discerning hipster.

Well you could get the hardhat version. ...In my opinion though in summer you are not gonna be comfortable in something which isnt well vented.I've tried riding in a skate lid and it sucks. I dunno, it just seems a bit daft - I would either get a proper helmet or not bother. I think that those Bern ones make you look more silly than if you just got a proper bike helmet.

Some of the Bern helmets are 12 vented I think, but you're right, it will probably be murderously hot in the summer. However, I have bizarre temperature problems and feel cold most of the time, so it sounds alright.
Also, I am a prick. As a prick I refuse to wear anything I don't think looks alright, and these are the nicest/most acceptable helmets I've seen, and seem sturdy, well made and have sweet extras. Most traditional cycling helmets look awful (personal opinion, of course), and despite them obviously being designed with cycling in mind, I am a prick, and will not wear them.

The only reason I'm actually getting a helmet is because my close friends and family are literally begging me to buy one. Even though no-one I ride with has mentioned helmets (it's a pretty heated debate), conventional non-cyclist wisdom seems to say get a fucking lid.
