There needs to be a cull

Culling is such a boring way to deal with an excess of users.

In Iain M. Banks The Algebraist, the Dwellers of the Gas Giant of Nasqueron routinely hunt their young for fun. Perhaps we could develop a system for killing off users too damn lazy to post every single day of their life. I favour something involving crossbows, napalm and gun turrets

coots (those black waterbirds with the white bit on their head) give birth to lots of young then proceed to swim away and turn round and peck at the ones that try to keep up the one that persists as the others die off is the one they feed and bring up.

upsetting for the townies and those with an idealised view of mother nature (people with cat fridge magnets and an aversion to touching meat) but it helps the species survive.
