As some one who grew up in Milton keynes i can confirm this as true....and i think in certain areas of MK they still are wearing them while raving to 'ardcore ravesets from dj ratty & dougle
i had one pair of troop ( it was a silly time) but never was swayed by peer pressure to try SPX.
