Motorhead, Maiden, Priest and even to a certain extent the Ramones i could kind of forgive, but i must say I nearly cried with rage when i went in there last year only to find they were selling 'aged' or 'distressed' (or whatever the fuck you want to call it) Bauhaus T-shirts.
How VERY dare they?!
arf. i do sympathise to an extent but really. try and keep in in persepctive. it's just the way the world of fashion/advertising/marketing works. urban outfitters are doing sonic youth shirts at the moment. almost got the girlfriend one for christmas but as i rabidly love SY and she doesn't have a clue about them i thought it might be a bit cruel. i got her an awesome purple rain one instead.
regarding topshop, to be honest i'm surprised this didn't happen earler and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. at the end of the day it's a bunch of brightly coloured clothes aimed at teens displayed on bikes. i don't see anything particularly pernicious about it. as far as i can tell the bikes they've chosen for their "brightly coloured clothes on bikes" display happen to be of a variety that is enjoying surge in mainstream popularity at the moment. who fucking cares quite frankly?
