So I bought this Italian Viner 650 track recently:
Since it's very battered (you can't see how bad in the photo), I'm going to powdercoat it in the summer, and not before, so in the meantime I got some of this:
and created this monstrosity:
I'm in the process of swapping over all parts from Marshmallow the First.... which make it very weird looking, but it turns out the bugger has an oval chain ring! Yay!
And the crankset is Ofmega, so it has a unique BB. Hello new drivetrain. Oh, did I mention it has 150mm cranks, and it gets toe rub even with them? WOOO!
The forks are undrilled and the crown has no room for drilling, and I get about a fag paper's clearance with 23 tyres on. Hello new 650 fork with enough raking! Huzzah!
I do love these easy no-fuss bikes....
i fuckin love it. makes it look serious. i think you should cover the chainstay's and forks to though

try not to brake too much, otherwise you'll wear the black paint off the rims (that how I went brakeless actually).

That’s the stupidest thing i have ever heard. Its a bike not a fashion accessory.
Brake all you like.

Ha, same. I used it once with a brake, it took the black off the edge of the little decal . So off came the brake and out came the sharpy. The wear wouldn't look so bad on the Silvers. Still, for the price I wouldn't want to fuck them up.

not so stupid when most of us chosen the h plus son simply because of the extremely deep v-ness that offer no advantage at all when we could've gotten a much much better rims for more than half the price (and perform much better than the H+son too as well as being stronger).
so yes, it's kinda a fashion thing.
after weeks not using the brakes I end up taking them off, ironically enough the amount of close call I used to get while commuting dramatically drop after being less aggressive due to relying on the front brake to slow down immediately if something popped up while going very fast.

Im changing from free to fixed for a similar reason actually, when i ride to college on my freewheel i arrive out of breath and sweating myself inside out, rode in on my fixed (which is my 2nd/beater bike just now) the other day and because i had been taking it easy due to not being so comfortable on the bike i arrived feeling much fresher.
I will still be running a front brake for a little while tho.
I meant with the vinyl.
