Re: the HedKandi stuff, I was well into ServeChilled #'s 1 & 2 the first time around - about 10 yrs ago now, never really got into their other series' as I was more of an indie kid back in the day before getting into more downtempo stuff.
I had a lot of time for Serve Chilled, but the rest of the Hed Kandi stuff just left me feeling let down. I think the very early years of Hed Kandi were just Mark Doyle having some fun with different types of music, but as is always the way, the commercial element took over.
Now though... Jesus - had a look at the track listing for their 'The Mix 2009' compilation and it's got shitty remixes of commercial pop - I mean, Estelle? Dizzee Rascal? That annoying Guru Josh track?
