    if it gets kids onto bikes it can only be a good thing.

    how many ten year olds (or their parents) have the money to go and get into track cycling?

    this is a cool way to get on a bike and enjoy bike riding for not too much money and that's what's important.

    i was eighteen and working before i got any type of bike that wasn't utterly shit - they were all far worse than the BMX's halfords are selling!

    I quite agree with you Johnny but when i worked in Halfords i got to experience first hand parents coming into the store on the run upto christmas and refusing to pay anythin over £75 for a full size bike.
    Now, thats not the bad part, the bad part is that these parents had very often been in the other shops around Halfords and were carrying with them what must have been thousands of pounds worth of mobile phones, games consoles, ipods etc.
    People don't seem to have any idea of what a decent bike actually costs and are much more willing to spend their money on presents that will keep their kids indoors in front of the telly.
