wicked! mint sauce rules!
-
• #3
holy shit I've completely forgetting about them!
used to read MBUK a lots back in the old day, far before they change their logos design into a aggressive looking type.
at least it wasn't designed on those shitty 'iWeb' software that help you make website, like Freshtripe.

Take's me back that does.

I can't even begin to describe how much love I have for Mint Sauce. Everything about it. Jo Burt's artwork, the little song lyrics/passages weaved into the page. Used to fucking knock me sideways every single month.
A few years ago when I threw out nigh on 4 years' worth of MBUK issues, I cut out all the Mint episodes (episodes? strips) and kept them all in a plastic folder. I'm totally gonna dig that out.

Shit I just realise I got those MBUK watch strap currently on my old Kona Hahanna bike to keep the brake and gear cable from rubbing the aheadset area.
-
• #7
Ahaha yes! i remember those straps. Did anyone get the Mint Sauce keyring?
-

I can't fix their site for them... they've gone and uploaded all of the HTML files as BINARY and it's screwed with all the line-ends and character encoding.
Oh well.
Anyhow, I've emailed Paul Fellows who hosts the files and suggested he fix it... and suggested I can host the whole shebang (and bring even more of the mothballed stuff online).

If murtle sees this he'll get all soppy because Mint always rides the same shitty old square-tubed pace...

-

HaHa Ed, I have that one and the one before (a more baby blue) on my old cindercone!!!!!
-
• #22
yes ed !
i will add to that - remember the Keyrings ?Mint Sauce fired my whole biking ethos...oh man takes me back a bit, infact i have a massive pile of MBUK magazines still at home.
All lovingly read from cover to cover. -
• #23
I'm fucking annoyed that I lost the keyring back in the 90's (I think), far better than those watch strap frankly.
HaHa Ed, I have that one and the one before (a more baby blue) on my old cindercone!!!!!
mine is baby blue - it's almost a decades worth of off-roading that gave it an navy colour.

I had that keyring, but lost it somewhere in wimbledon, along with my keys, a long time ago.
did anyone else find that it somewhat rubbed off on paper. -

:) Just managed to dig this out...
Anyone remember it?
There's an archive here:
http://homepage.mac.com/pfellows1/thisiswhy/
But unfortunately navigating it seems to be a bitch... looks like the .Mac servers haven't got their mimetypes sorted out.
Anyhow:
http://homepage.mac.com/pfellows1/thisiswhy/Images/thisiswhyindex2.jpg
I think I'm going to try and mirror the site so that I can fix the mimetypes and look at the older strips.
