  • @Willustration: haha classic! :P

  • you're a dickhead.

    haha, i missed this.

I get lots of ladies, the more I ride the more I get. I have a special dynamo system.

  • couriers are sexy

  • Aye, tis true..

  • and i'm with that crazy girl Stelle- depends what you're after.
The community is great, even if only from what i've seen from outside of it.

Also, there must be a reason why people stay in this job for 10+ years, it can't all be that bad, even if times are hard recently.

There's another Radio 4 doc about couriers going out at the end of January, this time focusing on the recession and once again featuring me and Nhatt. I'm hoping we'll get our own series soon: Nhatt and Will's Guide To Successful Living.

  • Speaking of Successful Living.. I have that turbo up and running.. in my kitchen :)
Had a 'session' last night (insert innuendo here).

    Now onto VB's coffee machine..

  • I can assure you if I was a neutral and read my advice over mr smiths advise...then I would say mine is extremely more valid. All Mr Smith is doing is putting the lad off by stating points he has no idea about.

as a neutral who has know idea i was just passing on some advice that was proffered to me when talking in general about working as a courier and why they gave it up etc. just because it is a contrary opinion doesn't make it any less valid than your wise words.
i expect the OP'er can make his own mind up from the various opinions on this thread.

try it and see. the worst thing that can happen is you get rained on or run over but at least you earn a few quid finding out if you like it.

  • Mr brown, I will be out tomorrow, but as a civilian. I put my brake in a drawer for a few months so that I can afford to maintain my new luxury radio 4 lifestyle.

Feel free to shout abuse and high five me whilst I'm out shopping tomorrow. You can find me in front of the vegan caviar in harrod's.

  • the pay in london is not worth it, do anything else.

  • man, folks get pretty butt hurt easily. i made more cash working delivery on my bike than my friends did via couriering. i unno. good like pum'kin.

Something like The Archers would be good because it is long running and recorded mainly in a studio out of the wet and cold. Perhaps you could enquire whether there might be roles for a couple of high profile curryers in Ambridge and Borchester. I can hear you now pedaling out to Home Farm with a package for Jennifer Aldridge and then off to drop something for the Grundys. Just steer clear of the Glebelands Estate.

I have no idea what this means.

    will it be a comedy?

but seriously, I hope to hear it this time, that last one sounded like a load of background noise with the odd faint comment over the top, what was all that about? I hear them say.

better they get you in a nice warm studio, point a U87 at you and let rip, I say.

wiganwill: the perfect face for radio

  • I'm only in it for the drugs.Seriously,we're all on the drugs.
That's why I joined the courieriers.

Doesn't that involve swallowing condoms rather than carrying an Archie Grobag?

  • He he,bit of both I 'spose.I go for the Pacbag though.

  • I get all the ladies.

  • I get all the ladies.

Ah, that explains my recent drought.

  • haha typing when i am not fully awake... i was saying folks get really offended and whiny about things pretty easily on this board. i used to work as a delivery person for a chesesteak place in philly, and i would make more off my tips alone than my courier friends would. and i would only work 4 hours a night and only deliver up to three miles from the resturaunt. BUT he did get to carry a radio…

  • emoxfag; can you explain your forum name please? I'm intrigued.

  • cheesesteak eh, that a bit like a doner but with cheese?
