As a lazy tight git I'd be more than happy to do this with the frame I've got waiting to build up, simply to save on the cost and effort of getting the paintjob re-done

That was the deciding factor... cheap as chippy chips... although I may get it clear coated properly, if not rattle can matt clear coat cheap-ass styley.
