• i disaggree.

first of all, i am not throwing it away; i am storing it for when i resell the bike at a premium to someone anal enough about everything being 'right' and 'as it is supposed to be' to spend way too much money on it.

and... if i wanted to ride slowly i wouldn't buy a bike that's made to go fast. i would buy a full suspension city bike with a nice comfy saddle the size of a couch. using a brake is not only about going fast, it's also about being able to react to motorists, tram drivers, peds and other cyclists who aren't paying attention to the rest of the road users. sure, you can try to anticipate every situation, but shit is going to happen and when it does, i'd rather have a brake on my bike.

and lastly, couble plate forks are not THAT rare. there are still plenty of them around and they can still be made if you really want one.

    that's just my thought anyway.

I got bikes with brakes and bikes without

and I change my riding style accordingly

riding brakeless actually broke a very bad habit of mine

of racing just about every fucka

who so much as looked a me

you do what you like sunshine

just a shame to hide a nice pair of forks

    under the bed
