New Years Eve Ride 31/12/08

I'm just testing the water here. Haven't thought of a route or much of a plan really but the way I see it most of the streets that aren't completely central/Trafalgar Square will be empty which means for an awesome ride followed by an awesome firework display followed by some random house party somewhere with awesome people. We could even hit up Trafalgar Square if anyone wanted to cause some trouble.

What you guys think?

Sounds good. I'm going to be riding around the Cli-Machx trail in Wales on my mountain bike. Then down to the beach for fires and party juice. Have fun what ever you do. There was some flirting with the idea of a new year ride to Brighton after the fireworks display in central town.

I think this could work either as a ride lasting till 11 so everyone can get to where they need for the countdown cos lets face it..its going to be a sausage fest. Or a first ride of the year could be quite good?

I could be up for this! My lady's in Spain visiting her family for New Year so, depending on what my mates have planned (which is probably fuck all), I'd be up for some of this first/last ride of the year bidniz.

Is this happening? Is it LIST time?

i just may be tempted to do this as well.......it'll be much less of an anticlimax then any other year has been!!

i went up town on me bike last year.

no cars. it was great.

but i was virtually the only rider up there.

i am definitely in.

i could be in too, got nowt planned that evening and am actually home for once.....

No idea. Haven't really had time to think of a route or plan at all. What's the concensus. Before midnight/to midnight/late night?

Considering giving this a go...suggest meeting up before NYE and heading somewhere to catch the pretty lights in sky then a quick blast round the city.

I'd avoid Traf Sq and anywhere near it though. It's fucking mental when the fireworks are on.
You can barely walk let alone cycle and there's cops and drunks everywhere.

I think the decision on before 12/after 12 needs to be made

before is best, could stop along the thames to check out the annually crap fireworks

before 12 is best for me.

and i would be up for a meet at the foundry, a ride to the duke and on to the jon snow and then try and find somewhere to watch the fireworks ?

or something along those lines ?
