  • @ Koens - Should have gone down the silver shiny route. That white looks a bit 'mad' IMO

yeah i like shiny silver, but i also like white, and i like the white/blue/orange combo i'm going for but i can see in the future stripping all the paint and polishing it up a nice silver and then at some stage powder coatinging it all black for stealth bike... and then maybe all white... =)

  • Nice one BDW. Nice hubs.

  • You are all very naughty boys!

  • for next seasons track riding - need to dial in my saddle position/stem length and tighten the chain

    Looking mean BDW!!

  • werent those andy's hubs BDW?

  • werent those andy's hubs BDW?

ay, they've gone to a good home

  • i used to sit and stare at those for days on end.... you lucky bastard!!!

  • lookin' very nice BDW

  • Gus - if you turn up at Herne Hill next season feel free to rock up and do a few laps on it

  • i'd love to! if i can reach the pedals... :/

  • BDW, she's looking lovely.

  • Just need to make sure I do the training so I don't look like a total spanner come March

all the gear, no idea etc…

  • wanna see that at wests, you gotta rock up on it :)

  • Fiddy would only get upset and go out and buy another 3 track bikes :^]

  • Just won this mercian 753 on ebay for too much, and stupidly without enough info, but it's a lovely frame and the right size.

I don't have it in my posession so this is the bext pic I have, but I'm worried about the rear dropouts. They look long semi-vertical so chain tensioning might not be a problem?

It's my first proper build and I'd prefer not to be fucking around with magic gear or eccentric hubs.... can I make it work fixed?

  • if the worst comes to worst you could always get Mercian to weld in some track ends on there.

Looks fine though, may be the angle of bike / photograph.

  • yes, you can. my first conversion had semi verts. i thought it would be hell but i was lucky and 46x18 worked first time. find a friend with many sprockets and chainrings and spend a day finding the right gear, it will happen. focus on the semi part, not the vert.they're not ideal but workable.

  • Yeh was thinking I could do that--if I get it done properly it won't weaken the back end will it?

  • After spending all that money surely you'd have been better off getting a track frame.

  • Surely I would have been. But I didn't. It was spur of the moment and the dropouts looked ok. Finding nice frames in my size is difficult. I haven't paid for it yet....

  • Ok, so this is fairly off topic...but i know there's a few drummers on here.
And it has been a current project of mine.
And it was done with the help of the Armourtex.
And it looked well boring before. Indeed.

    eccentric BB or hubs FTW.

  • I like the new frame BDW. RPM is going to have some serious competition come the spring.

    Tight!
    F*ckin' love that frame

  • Align your tyres with your valves slacker! Speaking of slackers, you need to bring that wheel back a smidge. I hope a man of your power is not using SPDs on the track.. and while I'm at it.. get rid of the valve caps!

Can I have your bike now please sir?
