The block of flats I live in is a new build - one of the stated provisos on purchasing the flat was that it was a car free developmnet, no parking places on site but two streetcar vehicles in the forecourt and no right to apply for a local parking permit.
Other than one guy who has a van for work and rents a local garage there are no cars. It's been great watching more and more bikes appearing in the secure bike store attached to the building and the fact that so many of the residents now ride
