get a peugeot, not too hard to find, reliable for average users i believe.
I'm not a pro but every time i ride it it's always good.
FYI
After putting the fixed cog on the flip flop hub i've never changed it back to ss.
It's just a nice feeling that makes you one thing with the bike and is also more efficient in town, even down hill. I kinda don't trust the brakes (!!!!) I know it sounds weird but it's what i do feel sometimes.
Coming from a big motorbike itis kind of similar (you always have a gear that slows you down on low rev).
Going to NYC tomorrow, gonna buy a few new accessory for it ;-)
