I spent too much time in my younger days listening to "Just One Fix" by Ministry.
I disagreed with the "just one" part and proceeded to ride many.Disclaimer: This post may or may not resemble a truthful or potentially untruthful remark from the possible author.

Yeah... I know.... but it would be more fun to use your body to stop too.

If you used hippy's body to stop, I'm sure you would have great fun.

Which reminds me, I saw a great example of this this morning. This (so-called) nodder tried to squeeze between a roadworks sign and a van. He hit the sign...then the van..then the sign again (which was now somehow attached to his bike) and dragged it down the road. Then his feet came off the pedals and he swerves all over the place (whilst accelerating away) and the sign eventually collapses into the traffic. When I overtook him he had this look of 'No one saw that. I'm convinced no one saw that. Oh my god. Oh my god. Everyone totally fucking saw that.'
It was like watching a donkey ride a bike.
hahaha. ooops.

So i could dress up like a twat and hang around brick lane.
Oooo, DUG.
Not really, i've never even been there nor do i know where it is.
It's awesome, makes riding so much fun.

I was riding an imaginary bike for some years and much like a imaginary car needs to be consistently steered even on straight roads (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nankNu8ii0M&feature=related
), an imaginary bike needs constant pedaling. As a result of this I already had the muscle memory of constantly pedaling and hence when I was finally aloud to progress on to a real bike a fixed wheel bike seemed like a natural choice. -

While at uni in London about 3-4 years ago thought the courier bikes looked cool. Then starting riding a road bike to get fit, started racing, time trials, and a fixed wheel seemed the best thing for a commuter/winter bike. Now it's the simplicity, smoothness of pedaling and the fluid movements in traffic you find yourself doing.

I'm gonna listen to it now. Fucking cool track.
Then I'll listen to jesus built my hotrod and post something in a car thread. -

my friends had a bike shop and when i bought a shit yard sale bike 5 years ago they suggested switching it to ss, which i did, and eventually moved on to fixed cause it seemed the natural progression.

love the style of classic racing bikes, framework, i have always loved building bikes no matter which style so it makes sense to ride them too. fixed is my latest fix..

It is the cheapest and requires the least maintenance. Which is exactly what I needed when I was a curryier.

What he said.

Because curryiers are hot.

i got fed up having to constanly deal with my shitty gears, so i converted it to ss. then i discovered i much prefered riding it this way. after some net research i found that other poeple seemed to be into riding with one gear, but they didnt have a freewheel. i had to have a go.
i still ride my origional SS probably as much as my fixed, i find carring panniers on fixed a bit awkward.

I went to a couple of Herne Hill taster days in 2003 and liked it a lot. I ordered a Fuji Track in 2005 (when I'd finally managed to convince myself that another bike was OK), which took ages to arrive and I can't remember when I eventually got it. I've mostly ridden it single speed but increasingly fixed. All the geared bikes are still indispensable, though. ;)

Skinheads stole my gears...
Tbh, they were teddy boys, OK, spivs.

To be fair, that was why I STARTED riding fixed. Now I ride for much more mature reasons, like knee pain.
You lot of course.
