No, it REALLY doesn't.
If you had an 8/11 winner with an £8 stake, would you be happy if the bookie handed you £11 when you went to collect? You'd have been shortchanged by £2.81.
8/11 x £8 stake = £5.81 winnings
Total returns = £5.81 + £8 stake = £13.81.
