Hmmmm...Don't rush just to post stuff to get out of the nursery. It doesn't end up well!
Our omnipotent admin, VB, may take offence to random stuff posted; just so you can get out of the nursery. His vengeance is swift and merciless.

A quick hi from another recent joiner. I recognise a number of names here and expect they may recognise mine.
I've been commuting on fixed from SE23 up to WC2 and back for the last three years or so and have done other rides (DunRun, Ride of the Falling Leaves, FNRttC) on fixed or ss but I still love my geared Pogliaghi. -

Cool, another Pogliaghi owner. Welcome! Oh, and mine has gears, too. ;)

I've toyed with fixing it but it's such a comfy ride for longer distances. It's a bit of a mystery bike and I think it may date from after Sante's era, but it's sweet.
Are you the Oliver from the Whitstable FNRttC, who travelled back on the train to Greenwich with me? And was near the front of the 2008 DunRun - on which I was riding the Pogliaghi?

Ha, small world, yes, that sounds uncannily like me! My Pogliaghi is definitely long post-Sante--not a problem as it's still a decent frame. I don't really think you can get Santes. At least not easily, and you can't just 'find' them--they look too distinctive. My brother and I built up mine from f+f with fairly mongrel parts but still a nice bike.
Unfortunately I didn't notice your Pogliaghi on the DD. There was a bit of riding to do! :)
Nice to bump into you again, let's meet on a ride again soon!

Hi all,
I've been visiting for ages and signed up to get hold of one of the T-Shirts.
I haven't got a fixed bike. . . . yet! but I'm working on sorting it out :) Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. You may see a couple of questions popping up asking for advice in the future :)
Anyway; glad to finally have said hello - I may see you about and will try to contribute in the future.

Hello,
I am Sebastian from Vienna,
I am part of a small, pleasant bunch named Fixedgear.at, Austria's contribution to cycling with only one (fixed) gear and epiphenomenons like hardcourt cycle polo and self-organized races and little excursions. So if somebody is planning to holiday in a snowed up hut in the alps, just give us a call, we will help you out.
Cheers,

Seb, put an Austrian team together for the European Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships, hosted by London next summer!

Shall I consider this as a defiance? Where's my gauntlet, dammit!
We've already a constant number of players and practice every sunday.
Want to invite you to have a look at our homepage and photo gallery.Anyway, I think we could set a more or less competitive team.. äh, sodcluster.
We'll see. is there a time for applications? -
