Brake levers?

  • Just in case anyone's interested, I've just found a nice new lever from a company called Eclat BMX. Don't think they're in the UK yet but most places I've seen them say early December. I would recommend Custom Riders myself.

I have one of these, it works for the hairy run-ins.

  • S/Ram have just bought out these for 2009.
Good for HHSBBB (Hip Hop Slave Bike Bull Bars)

    +2 (Front & Back brake :)
Best lever ever, honest. I wouldn't lie to you....Guv'nor.

"The Swift lever's unique clasp design allows for a wide range of placement on the handlebar, and the lever's extended profile means you don't need to bend your brake lever to fit your handlebar."

    Evans Cycles have them: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/eclat/swift-brake-lever-ec017446

    Price aint to bad either

  • Acor Cyclocross Lever questions:

Will the 23.8mm levers fit on Cinelli Criterium bars - 24.1mm dia.?
How do they attach to the bars?
Can they be installed/removed with out taking the bar tape off?

Yeah, there's enough room in the bracket for that I reckon. They attach slightly unusually: the front lever bit kinda slots sideways into the rear semi-circular bracket, then a bolt goes up and in underneath. I doubt you'll get them over bar tape, though...

  • ??
    That's the ones.

  • Some ideas for people that I've found on my hunt for a small silver brake lever.

  • give it a brake :)

  • Are my eyes wank, is that lever white or silver? I think I see white

  • looks quite 'Witcomb' to me actually...

  • lavender apparently

  • Thought I'd take the opportunity to make a fool out of myself by asking what's probably going to turn out to be an obvious question. I've done shedloads of research, but am still not quite sure...

I have Nitto RB-18 bullhorns, which Hubjub say are a 26mm clamp. I'm currently running a TT-style lever at the end of the bar, which is a waste of time as that's not where my hands are when I'm wanting to brake.

If anyone uses the Nittos and has a BMX-style lever, or just happens to know what will work, could you let me know? It can be left hand or right hand - doesn't matter too much - but I'm just totally confused on what's going to work as hardly anyone lists the clamp size and the last thing I want to do is end up with a stack of very pretty looking levers that are too small to fit my bars.

  • Drop bar levers have more mechanical advantage than flat bar levers.

re. the cable moving, it sounds like your cable is not seated properly at one end. Take it off and insepect where the cable sits and the end of the cable outer. Is it cut off cleanly, you may need to file the end to get a nice clean finish. use a ferral if you have one too.

    solder also works a treat

    Anyone? No-one?

  • Hadn't seen this mooks. I've got a Cane Creek cross lever on my Nitto RB-18s. I've had to fit it away from the oversized central section. I've attached a photo to show it.

Ed I've got a silver Tektro that would fit? New, perfect condition though ain't pretty...it's a RH side, but you could flip it if need be.
