Just about to shout a cheery Oi to Big Red - he decides to tuck behind a bus, I decide to hit the white stripes and navigate the oncoming. I know exactly where you are talking about. I couldn't face going down the other side, so I just skootched over the crossing there. I keep going straight on through Peckham, and I assume you head down OKR.
