how hard is it to build a bike from scratch with no experience?!
i hope its not too hard, i'm gonna do ot anyway......
cheers
I think I'll talk to you on every thread you post on!
Have you ever built bikes before? Do you know what you're doing with them? If not the Sheldon Brown is the man to ask about pretty much anything bike related! http://sheldonbrown.com/
and here's the link for the fixed gear page: http://sheldonbrown.com/fixed/index.html
I've been meaning to post my Peugeot on here anyway, so here it is!
This is how it was just after I'd converted it to fixed. The only thing's I've changed are the bars, seat, tyres, pedals and adapted the rear wheel:
Then I got new forks, stem and headset:
And I've fitted a front brake the old BMX way so that I can barspin:
I think it's cost me less than £100 including putting new tyres on. I did although have quite a few spare parts already from other bikes, so bars and things were free to me. I also did all the work myself, so didn't have to pay a mechanic. I hope you would be able to do your own bike, you get such a good feeling from it when it all comes together, but don't risk ruining a perfectly good bike if you're not sure. There are plenty of people on here that will be very happy to help.
