"Dammit! my bike was nicked yesterday Tuesday the 18th from the top of Brick Lane on the corner of Bethnal Green Road Outside Casa Blue Bar. Anyone happens to see anyone on it... either clothes line them, or politely let them know it's stolen. Bit of a long shot, but we pedalled many miles together. Boo."

anybody lost a black Monoc today 20 Nov? Just seen (last 15 mins) a white, hooded guy, wearing all black, cycling from the Camberwell Green direction towards Elephant and Castle. I followed him, he realised, tried to lose me but I found him on one of the estates on the walworth road. He then tried to hide, before saying 'alright mate' and cycled off towards Kennington. Bike looks about 3 months old or less. I'll call around the local bike shops tomorrow early and post an ad on gumtree.

what made you think it was stolen? its quite amusing you followed him. his attempt to flee implies it is stolen.

hooded guy, no lights, riding singlespeed very slowly. at first i thought it was odd, then i thought it was damn suspicious. altho i've just realized that it may not have been a monoc, the name on the down tube looked a little too long. i should've got my phone out but there wasn't any time

Another stolen polo bike
Stolen from a back yard next to broadway market last night:

Silver (but very stickered) Spartan track bike, yellow deep vs, condor/sugino chainset with bmx chainring, risers, 43x21 gear so they wont be going fast...

Yeah. Its my polo bike. FOr some reason I cant find any pictures right now, but youve probably all seen it..I lent it to a friend (her last bike went under a HGV..), and last night their house got broken into.

As usual, if you see it anywhere, stab the kid riding it in the eyeball from me, etc..or call me on 07981 031 6two7 and ill do it myself...

Score one more for the brick lane stolen bikes market ..the polo bike is now returned. Much love to Martin from Brick Lane Bikes, who called me when I was still sleeping and hungover to tell me the chav kids in the market had my bike. Seriously, can we go down there with large weapons one week? I'm pretty sure none of the other bikes they had were theirs either. Anyway, thanks to martin and brick lane bikes, I got mine back. And thanks again to everyone else who posted or was watching out for it.

Now Im just upset they took off most of my stickers. And put out the flames..

Sounds nicked to me, just posting in case anyone recognises it.

My boyfriend's bike was stolen yesterday from outside our flat along with a lot of our neighbours' bikes. It's a black Esperia 5200 hybrid bike with a rear mudguard, rear and front lights and a missing rear reflector.

He went to Brick Lane this morning to look for it but it was pouring with rain and freezing so there weren't many people around. He also took a walk around a nearby estate and found his sawn through lock as well as a neighbour's stolen bike (which he recovered). The bike's probably still in the estate. Maybe it will make it's way to Brick Lane next weekend. Anyone know if they sell stolen bikes down BL on Saturdays as well?

he changed the add this morning - saying 'sold'
bad luck that I only came back to london yesterday...

This black monoc for sure was stolen -
Still not sure if this was mine badly 'retouched'

So far I couldn't find out with monoc directly if they
sell a black frame like this... (also tricky to check a few details
as of course he didn't put any close-ups

good news((: I got my monoc back - painted black but back. share-buy back from the guy who bought it on gumtree (and spent £300). One guy at Bricklane Bikes (sorry i forgot your name - thanks to you!) told him that this monoc could be my stolen one - he was so nice to call me (Thank you amigo) - we met and I got my monoc back and he a new frame and bits = so we are both with bikes(:

That's good news grit. It's a shame that the git who nicked it got the money though. We can hope the police do something about it but I doubt they will.

found this on gum tree, the description wasn't very helpful so when i phoned.. it took a while for the guy on the phone to realise he had a bike for sale, quite obviously stolen. He didn't know the frame size or anything, anyone recognise this?

hi all cycle bereaved, need to pitch in my 2 cents worth on this shameful subject. had a bike stolen 2 weeks back in carnaby street so now checking lfgss for reviews etc. to find decent suitable replacement.

i'm shocked how many bikes are traded at brick lane market!! should be a ban on the sale of second hand bikes at the market i say - such high value item & peddled so easily by light fingered chavs. surely it encourages theft?
