  • Have many people been injured in the past? I didn't see anybody hurt themselves last week, but then I'm not watching everybody!

usually there tend to be a modest 15 people, 20 at the most, but now more and more people going to come to try trix or simply to chat and watch, perhaps now it's probably a good idea to think about first aids in case something happen.

  • I think it sounds like a really good idea, if you want to do it then go for it. I'm sure everyone will appreciate it.
I had no idea so many hurt themselves/got hurt at Trixie!

  • If we get patched up as soon as we hurt ourselves, then how are we going to get cool scars, badass reputations, snarling movie roles, sex?

    answer me that!

(Disclaimer: if I do come a cropper I will of course be the first coming running to you for a plaster)

  • If anyone wants post injury hugs I will be there to console any poor hurt people who are too soft to HTFU, thank you that is all.

  • im with CrazyJames on that one! HTFU... no pain, no gain!

well that's very kind of you. do i get a pre trixie, post injury, hug for hurting myself today? I'd like to have it at around 8:02pm if it's at all possible? Thank you friendly posters :-)

  • I most likely won't be able to come tomorrow, owing to drinks with bikeless friends who don't do trix (people like that exist for some strange reason). I loved my first two times last week and the week before. Last week I managed some longer trackstands and while I'll keep practising those, I'll need tips on what to try next. Any ideas?

Have fun everybody, hope the weather is decent! I'm already looking forward to next week.

    Hug TFU?

I fell off my bike once two weeks ago (no first aid needed, no scars or bruises) and after that working on trackstands became much easier as I wasn't worried about falling off any longer. It helped, being a low-speed (0mph), low-impact fall and all.

  • Oliver, what were you riding last week?

I might try come again tomorrow but i destoryed my wrist on saturday being a silly bugger on my streetmtb at southbank.

A blue and white 61cm Fuji Track with drop bars.

Ouch, are you sure you mean 'destroyed'?

  • Haha, tired, typing is bad when i'm tired.

Ah, think i remember seeing you. Running SPDs? You were unclipped doing trackstands yeah?

  • Ah, think i remember seeing you. Running SPDs? You were unclipped doing trackstands yeah?

Yes. Clipped in will have to wait for a bit yet.

I remember you owing to the eye-catching Papaerospoke arrangement in your front wheel.

  • im looking forward to seeing what tomorrow night is like.

  • i managed to 'destroy' my foot earlier on my way home. I'm trying some new clips, and im finding it hard to get used to them. I usually run spds so these are a little different. I think I got my foot jammed between the crank and the chainstay, but it could have been the downtube seeing a my feet are quite wide. Anyway, it hurt like hell and now im limping. I've rearranged events to be able to go to trixie tomorrow and now i might not even be able to get on my bike!

Noo, clipped in, no matter how good you are, is silliness.

Haha, yeah, ltd edition 7 spoke.

  • ^ no way!^ clipped in makes all tricks soooo much easier.

  • Yeah, easier to eat a whole load of sandpapery shit.

  • Clipped in means it takes longer to get your foot down.

  • Lurker103, it's TrixieDix, not trixie. There's trixie chix, the original, for gals only, and then there's TrixieDix, the oft-debated impulse-thunk-of copycat mutant brother, which is for anyone who fancies it. Some people find part of the name leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I'd fogotten about this, but the name has stuck now so there it is. Tricks-on-the-car-park-roof night, or TrixieDix. But not trixie as trixie is a girl's name and it's starting to sound like she's some kind of affable call-girl who has a special rate for first timers.

  • Yeah, which means you topple over from not being able to put a foot down.

  • The irony is that on TrixieDix night is that we have a sporadic number of girls despite it being a Dix night.

  • Fat Pants obviously has me on ignore then. Either that or he's making some profound statement about first-time sex.

It was very quickly inclusive Ed, with the emphasis on beginners. Okay the beginners bit might not be quite so obvious these days, but it's still all about beginners. That and having some wicked tricksters doing their stuff while you drink on a beer.

  • Nope, you're not on ignore? I don't ever ignore people, in the same way it pisses me off a lot when people close my left messages on msn, as something important might have been said.

    What did i ignore?

Oh, and you're not a cunt. No one on here is a cunt i don't think.
