• A load of us (10 > 15) were waiting on Vauxhall bridge for almost 30 minutes whilst you all diverted to Trafalgar Sq. We didn't know! You bastards.

Traffic lights (with fast moving traffic) had cut the pack into groups, and when we saw the front lot turn right up towards Downing St we just figured you were all plonkers for not knowing that you turn left to get to the next bridge, that you'd figure it out, or that you were all dead set on going back to do Hungerford Bridge. It would have been nice if detours like that were communicated, the 10+ included some great people, and it was nice to stop and chat, but we got cold waiting for you all to catch up again.

Has this all got too big? The ride as one pack thing? We could declare in advance any detours, and just let people ride at their own pace and space. This would reduce a lot of the danger as a hell of a lot of accidents did occur, and would keep people moving and not waiting around at places.

There's nothing wrong with 150 people starting as one group, but 150 people waiting for a puncture to be repaired is plain daft. Especially as this is the bridges route, it's not like anyone is going to get lost... just follow the river. I'd understand if we were going to Winchester and needed to stay together for navigation and safety, but on a known route with some narrow areas splitting up would probably be better for navigation and safety.
