Am I missing something here, you're all laughing at someone because they're ugly?
well no.
from what I can see, the people on this thread are laughing at the posters reactions on another forum, to a guy who posted pictures of his bird and expected everyone to think she was hot. -

Questioned that one myself when writing it and decided that I didn't belong to the pedants but was assuming myself (in jest) as the pendant finder general. So yes I was suggesting that I was the 'pinnacle of pedantry'. Will leave it to Platini in future.

It's not the fact she is ugly, but it's the combination of that with being a little dopey, putting together some cringy pics up and the way everyone reacted, there is some nastyness.
Remember the viral with the chubby kid pretending to be a Jedi. very funny, piss take after was great. But that kid had to go to counselling.

Sometimes academics talk such shit. 'The apostrophe was the last punctuation mark to be standardised. Didn't get standardised until around the middle of the nineteenth century. It' s only around 150 years old. As a result, people are still rather confused about what to do with it ...' (not the exact words of David Crystal, Professor of Linguistics at Bangor University)
