use dry line and just lube and clean more often. Wet tends to pick up more yuk.

yeah. the wet lube is a hangover from my XC days which I can't shake. Like the blurb for the pro road though 'On a molecular level we’ve combined engineered ceramics with the slipperiest fluoropolymers available, and put it into a base of premium pure 100% synthetic oils'
He he, molecular level...I'm sold!!

i was eating out chains every 7-8weeks, and i clean the chain really regularly (lube and grit was getting inside rollers). but have swapped to white lightening dry clean lube and not only cleaner but less wear. -

Yes.

They are if you can't be bothered to take your chain off to clean it. A pot of white spirit and a stiff brush will clean your chain well.

"Gun Oil - the premium, condom-safe lubricant that keeps a man's most important weapon well oiled. If the military issued a lube, this is what they'd distribute with the condoms and artillery. During Operation Desert Storm, Marines jacked off with actual military-issue gun oil while hunkered down in the trenches of Kuwaiti battlefields. A group of those marines has developed a high-tech, condom-safe formula for smooth, rapid-fire action. This silicone-based lube keeps a Private's parts well-lubricated with added Vitamin E and Aloe Vera for longer lasting, slicker ride and minimized skin irritation. The ultra-concentrated formula is designed to out-perform comparable top-shelf products - a few drops lubricate thoroughly without breaking down or drying out. With a suggested retail price significantly lower than its competitors, Gun Oil is a certain bestseller on your lubricant shelf.
Ingredients: Dimethicone, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Demethiconol, Cyclomethicone"
I have no idea if the bold italic part of the product description is true or not but it's quite amusing either way.

^ I'm trying White Lightning Clean; wax based so dry to touch and when contaminated it drops off so allegedly self cleaning but would need more regular topping up with lube

well I'm old fashioned and I use car grease, I've tried a lot of the makes reckoned to do this and that and they ALL get washed off in the rain, end result a rusty chain.
Car grease does it nicely, applied with a toothbrush top and bottom of the chain, and a wipe over with a tissue/cloth, last for ages.
Down side- the grease collects dirt but its so little bother its not worth worrying about, and I change chains at least once a year anyway so what the heck.
What do people use? I ran out of Finish Line Wet and popped down to H*l*o*ds only to find they only had Muc Off Wet lube. which I bought....partly because I needed some lube quick, and partly 'cos I'd never seen it before.....(suckahhhhhh)
But it doesn't seem very 'lubey' to me?!
Any reccomendations for proper 'lubey' wet lube?
Ta!
