This is a really important story, and this should be retold with all details both to the pigs and the press.
Now you might not necessarily agree with the OP's final course of action, but if the boys in blue hadn't been so absolutely fucking useless he wouldn't have to to do what he did.
Even if their hands were tied they could've at least given him some support in the form of manpower/trust/empathy instead of just fucking nicking RLJers and teenage potheads.
I don't know about these things but surely a swear-free, detail-enriched version of this story should be circulated, as I said above, to the press (someone may be interested) and to some useful department of the MET (if such a thing exists). This isn't the first story on LFGSS I've heard of rozzers being worse than useless, and it won't be the last I'm sure. They need to be brought to task - their lack of action means that the crime goes unpunished and that the victim is being forced to be in contact with the criminal, which is the least desirable thing all round.
Yup, if the details are correct of course.
As a cyclist I really want this story out there, it could really do some good.
Just a FYI I've just phoned the police for the FOURTH time for them to come and have a look at a stolen bike I found and recovered, FOUR FUCKING TIMES! The first two times it appears the call wasn't even logged, the third time they seemed more interested in letting me keep the thing (after 6 weeks finder keepers period or whatever) than actually tracing the rightful owner. Pretty upsetting really because I imagine if it was my bike that had been stolen.
No idea who you contact to take this further though, the CTC?
