theres a stiff build (responsive) then theres stiff ride (uncomfortable). you'll overly fatigue your body just for fashions sake. they'll be very harsh for work and you'll prolly be grumpy and cranky by friday
what circuit you doing? westend? city? westend>city(they still do that???its been a while)
the halo's are good value - heard reports recently (on this forum?) that hub finish is a bit ropey, but had no complaints from the wheelsets or hubs that i sold in prev. job
why not get something budget/durable for work and save up for something fancy for the w/e?
although i'd really really recommend saving and investing into something like phils on open pro's. most reliable messenger wheelset i've ever had. 7 years of work around the world and changed the bearings once. trued the wheels twice (quality of the build)...
its your body and your money - its your decision... we're just here to advise
my 2 cents
Fatigue my body? But I've been taking HTFU pills since reading posts on this forum so fatigue is now irrelevant :)
Circuit? I go wherever the fuck I'm sent at the moment due to things being pretty slow right now, W 1,2,3,8,9 SW,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 EC,1,2,3,4, E,1,2,3 SE,1,2 NW,1,2 You name it really, I almost went on a Brixton to Camden the other day before it got cancelled.
I'm currently using my durable and fuctional hybrid for work at the moment but the poor derailleur's taking a beating, hence this will be my 'nice bike' really and I was considering using it for work.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it some thought.
