  • Obama was definitely the better candidate no argument. But when you look at the history of African Americans in the U.S. what we have just done is a dream that I never thought I would see in my lifetime. 50 years ago the U.S. was a segregated country and the KKK and the Dixicrats in the south were a force to be reckoned with. Having a "Black" man ascend to the presidency is absolutely incredible! The color of his skin is a huge positive in this case.
    Don''t get me wrong, I'm not in anyway disputing just how amazing it is that the USA have just elected the first non-white president. It's an awesome acheivement.

    But I do state that the problem with the whole world, not just the US, is the adherence to the "not one of mine" mindset. Humans are by their very nature tribal animals, yet this can be over ridden if people have a little empathy and a lot of compassion.
