i think all the comparisons to Blair/ New labour are perhaps a little unfair - american politics is a bit different to ours, it's 10 years later, and the Bush administration is proper evil, whereas John Major's lot were just corrupt and sleazy.
we'll see, of course, but let's not anything take away from the fact that bush has gone, and there's a black man in the white house.
it's worth celebrating.
