It was like Nathan Barley had written it. I understood so little of it but then again I did have a baby being fed on one arm at 3 in the morning.

Your baby can do one handed press-ups whilst feeding?
Those are some insane genes you've passed on.

I may just have to go my own way on this : 47x18 because I haven't tried it yet.
i'm currently on 47x18 - it's brilliant. great for getting up hills sitting down.
London's Famous Murtle alo used to ride this gear, i believe.
when i want some top end speed, i flip the bitch round to 47x17

if you're worrying about skid patches, use 17 or 19. Almost every chainring will give you 17 or 19 skid patches respectively.
I be rocking 47x19 and I love it.

not everyone is strong enough to push 72" in hilly areas
I will always say start low and then work up, that way you develop the muscles from spinning
48 x 18 isn't 72 GI, it's 70.
nice and manageable on t'hills.

I'm glad they released it as Ministry, and not 'The Butthole Lard'. A bit too Last Tango In Paris for my tastes :S
