My langster collects water

  • I changed my bottom bracket on my Langster at the weekend. As I unscrewed the cups to my surprise I found that the frame had been storing up 1/2 pint or so of manky water.

Any ideas of how to avoid this ? Other than keeping it dry ?

    Cheers
    Tim

  • Drill a hole in the bottom bracket shell.

  • Stand your bike upright (on the back wheel) after a particularly wet ride. If water doesn't drain out the chainstays, do what andyp said, or get some fucking mudguards.

    Fill it with rose petals...

    Fill it with Tang

  • Fill it with Tang

Lock it in a laboratory and explore possible uses in micro-irrigation projects.

  • Plant cress in it...

  • I like cress

  • But it can compromise the structural integrity of the tubing and cause a cress crash.

  • I think alfalfa is widely considered as being the more reliable leaf vegetable, but cress is blingin!

  • I think asm has got an alfalfa frameset knocking about...

  • Garden cress is suitable for hydroponic cultivation and thrives in water that is slightly alkaline.
    If I rightly recollect...

  • I keep the water in mine so that tynan doesn't feel so bad about his overweight Argon..

(Did you see what I did there? I took a normal conversation and put a slight TWIST (said with action) on it. Ala Partrideg)

  • I think the Langster has issues with the BB it's not the first time I've read about people having trouble. Mine is creaking like buggery, just as I'm preparing to rid myself of it. I think I'll have to stick to polishing turds.

  • Same thing used to happen to my surly, I used to stand it vertical after a wet ride.

If it was steel I woud recommend coating the indise of the tubing with waxoyl or similar.

  • Make sure it's empty and put something over the weld heat releif holes?
