  • To all the Gooners on here, hold your head in shame - very brave gobbin and throwin coffee at women and kids!

  • Dirty dirty gooners.

‘I smacked a few of ‘em, even some kids - so what?’ Twat!.

Unfortunalty its not just Arsenal fans. There small amount (more in some clubs than others) of thugs at every club. I love going to football maches. I love the banter and abuse from both sets of fans. What I don't like is the mindless violence. I get worked up waching my team but fighting over it just seems piontless.

  • oh dear. Aidan hand that shirt in now. ... I've got a spurs one you can have?

  • If it was Millwall it would be front page news.

I don't believe that first link, there is only one thing worse than OB and that's reporters.

Even if your assertion were true (it isn't) a blogger is hardly a reporter...

  • WAC!

but that sht happens everywhere. pretty sure there are thugs at everton that are just as bad. went to a few villa matches, not a wholesome experience. and to think we were sitting right next to the 'family' section. why the fck would you take your kids to that kind of environment?!?! so much aggression...and stewards do fck all.

fulham is different. bit subdued there. prob cos they get a lot of tourists and young families going to the matches.

  • Cos it's Arsenal and they're SKY 'Big 4' lovies there's been no press about it but if it was any other club outside the top 4 that had their fans gobbin at women & kids and throwin coffee - all from the above tier don't forget it'd be all over the news, there'd be fines, fans banned for life etc
I was gonna go to the game but couldn't be arsed in the end but my estimations have gone down now. I was there the last 2 seasons and there was still pricks on the top tier throwing stuff then - again EFC fans tell the coppers and stewards and nothing gets done except EFC fans getting thrown out for throwing stuff back, having video cameras pointed at them all game and getting nicked
Atleast a few AFC fans got twatted in their own pub(The Globe) after the game!

    And so it continues...

  • Where was Pip sitting? I herd the ring leader a a green 'fxie' and messy blond hair.

There is only on thing worse than reporters and that is bloggers.
It was a slighlty tongue in cheek cliché, sorry about that.
I'm still not sure I believe the chaps 'report' of the trouble.

  • And so it continues...

Difference being it was EFC lads twatting AFC fellas in their own pub, not EFC throwing coins and coffee at women and kids, from a distance behind the defence of stewards

    Twats!

  • EFC lads twatting AFC fellas

I may be a pedant but I'd never go that far.
Trading punches over a vowel seems a bit extreme...

  • I just spent 6 years living in Portsmouth nothing ...absolutly nothing comes close to Portsmouth Fans.

  • A few mindless idiots managed to fuck up a good afternoon. I thought the atmosphere in the library was great until this happened.

Should any Evertonians happen to be reading this I'd like them to know that the vast majority of Arsenal fans do not condone such p*ss poor behaviour by anyone and would apologise on behalf of all reasonable football supporters for such abhorrent stupidity.

  • Pompey fans are nutters... Cardiff boys are pretty crazy an' all...

Well, I agree it only takes a few cowardly twats to fuck it all up but I can say that you'll get yours at Goodison as sadly, we too have a minority of knobs that'll be seeking retribution - difference being it won't be in the ground

  • If Football had more violence and goals on the field, then they would have less in the stands.
Mostly works for Ice Hocky and Aussie-Rules.

That's because the first link is meant to be a joke, blaming the police for the violence.
    Not very funny, but still

There you go: every club's got 'em, but your, and your fellow fan's partisan attitude means the cycle of violence gets continued, particularly as you seem to be easily influenced by sensationalist reports. You're pleased that Arsenal fans (who I don't doubt had absolutely nothing to do with the event in the ground) got hurt after the game, and while you dress it well, the above statement is loaded with threat too.

The myopia and dubious morality of football fans inevitably means when they do it, it's outrageous, when we do it it's justifiable, just like blind eyes are turned to diving and vicious when their team does it, and spit-flecked outrage greets the same from the opposition.

  • Pista, are you by any chance a Spurs supporter?

  • I think he is an Everton fan. Almost as bad though ;)

  • Come on, for us Spurs fans this small bit of bad press is the only victory we are going to get all season. Oh, other then in two weeks time.

  • just like blind eyes are turned to diving and vicious when their team does it, and spit-flecked outrage greets the same from the opposition.

Nice prose and so true. Going to football is really great for people watching.

    and a good tear up

  • I'm not sure of the facts here but if they were being pelted from above the away end, then this would be from the prawn sandwich brigade (Platinum Suite) rather than die hard fans. Which sounds odd.

It doesn't sound great and fairly out of character for such a normally unimpassioned crowd. But let's face it, football attracts a broad demograph, some of which is absolute scum (e.g. the blokes who sit behind me and hate Adebayor mainly cos he's black). For the record Pip could not have been further away from this - he sits diagonally opposite the away fans.

Everton fixtures are usually fairly amicable affairs no doubt helped by the fact that since Rooney left we've consistently stuck 4-8 goals on them most games :D
