That Fuji looks great with a straight fork.

Definitely pretty, don't like the bars though. Think it needs to have the stem lowered and put some short risers on there.
yeah, good call on that. I'll take a hacksaw to the stem and make my way to halfords tomorrow i think..

If you cut the stem wont you ruin it? Don't you just un-do the thingy (the bit that holds the stem in place) & give it a whack with a hammer or something? Then you can re-position it. Or am I being thick? -

here's my bike built so that there's not much i'd change. i got the frame, forks and bottom bracket from El Diablo for £45 which i was happy about. It's a nice sparkly black colour and rides really nice. I'm pretty sure it's a faux pas to run a 700 on the front but i havent got around to changing it over yet, and am not sure if i want to. Also i'm sure everyone has comments on the flat bar on a lo-pro but it feels good to ride at the moment. Everything is just taken off my old bike so it's not planned but i like it.
face is the same
what frame is that? does it say aeride?
i like it alot, nice bike, don't know too much bout lo-pros gonna check them out now. -

Double n00b here- new to the site and new to fixed (so you can expect a number of stupid and ill informed questions from me).
In fact I'm so new to fixed I'm not even fixed yet. Converting an ex-black 1988 cannondale SM700 mtb. Still waiting on white ind. eno hub, cog and sugino rd crank to arrive. Got all the other bits though. Currently it looks like this ;D
Yeah ok- a bit odd but wtf- I'm having fun making it.
and I look like this....

^ I doubt you'll have a problem with pedal strike with that clearance...
Welcome BTW, nice Yam. -

Yeah- 13" BB. And I've ordered 165mm cranks. ??overkill/overcaution!?
(Aye, the yam's a bit of a peach- I stuck an akrapovic carbon/hex can on and had the carb jets changes and a few other wee mods which liberate a rather healthy 140bhp at the back wheel- keeps a smile/stretched grimace on the face!)

Welcome BTW, nice Yam.
I don't think you got it, 'yam' is fixed gear slang, and in this context platini is trying to chat you up.
its ok, you're new here, you'll catch on soon.

:)I don't suppose I'd be fortunate enought that platini is an extremely well endowed, attractive and loose moraled female with a cute friend and a penchant for 3somes??
Thought not :( eek

Sorry to disappoint you on several counts...

Yep, leccy tape, although it's only temporary as I'm planning a full re-spray with vintage Bianchi decals and chrome details on chainstay and forks.
Your going to fully spray over a chrome bike??? Why not just put vintage decals on the chrome? Anyone who sprays over chrome is a complete moron!!
( I sprayed half of my stays :-) )

nearly all keirin frames are chromed before they are painted

Aye, the Salon-frequenter speaks the truth...

They are single dip, un polished chrome to protect the frame. 'Chrome' frames are polished and dipped multiple times to get a good finish. If you strip one of the chrome underneath frames (I have) you will find that the chrome finish is nowhere near that of a bike designed not to be painted.
The best thing about the Bianchi pista is the super indestructible chrome finish.
Revised:
Anyone who sprays over chromed bianchi pista is a complete moron!! -

bmxfred, i think you should eat your words, and a penis while you're at it.
It's a quill stem, they can adjusted up and down within reason. And there's loads of space for it to go down. And for looks reasons, he can lower it and put some risers on there and it'll have almost exactly the same riding position, except it'll be a tiny tiny bit swept back.
Stronach, it's gonna be hard getting chain tension with that little adjustment... You tried it yet?

The hub I'm waiting on is one of those 'eccentric' jobs where the bolts and axle are offset. Allegedly gives 15mm adjustment. Fingers crossed it should be ok?! But yes, there's not much in the dropouts.

Ah, fair enough, thought it wasn't an ENO hub that did that but obviously is.
Looks sweet though, deffo nice to have the crank clearance! I haven't done it majorly yet but it's easy to do on a touring conversion with 172.5mm cranks and fairly wide pedals...

Smart move getting those hubs.
Chain half-links, or even a half-link chain (hubjub.com sell both, as should your local bike shop) will help.
If your going for 'real' pedals (rather than SPDs etc) and worried about pedal strike then MKS GR9s are really narrow. I run them in a fixed conversion for this reason and I really like 'em.
In the photo of me riding the Dave Lloyd it has a Radial laced wheel, that wheelset is now on my Bob Jackson, all the others are normal 3 cross lacing
