Lift your back wheel up and spin your pedals. If it stops before you think it should your BB maybe too tight. Or your chain needs lubing. Or chain tension needs reducing.
Given the force generated by inertia of a rotating wheel and the relatively low rev rotation through a BB bearing (vs an hub bearing or a more extreme example a skateboard wheel) pretty much anything less than binding should be fine.
