it's just that people who use words "fixie" and "scene" tend to get crucified.
ah ok, yup can understand that,
there must be a certain element of people doing it for purely fashion reasons jumping on the commercial bandwagon etc which gives rise to the dogtown locals only
thats my ignorance and i'll make appropriate edits
i will also stick up an introduction thread with some photos of my bikes past and present
cheers for the first instruction

Observe for a bit then jump in. If you get shit then take it like a man and dish some out in return.
Seems to work for most of the regulars.
This forum is different from most because there is a thriving social scene around it so a lot of people know each other.
It's fixed btw not fixie.

i cant gain experience unless people are patient and allow me to learn
Unfortunately, people generally don't gain experience or learn things without having their mistakes highlighted..

I'd rep you for that but I need to spread the love around before I can rep you again. -

I'd recommend looking on this forums 'classifieds' section and e-bay for the basis of a restoration project. I appreciate the urge to tinker and restore. You can find a lot on this already here by using the search function. (which coincidentally is what all of the above are not saying).
the Charge plug is a brilliant first OTP. Although I can say that it is probably better and cheaper to build a bike up rather than getting an otp as you will invariably want to change most everything apart from the frame quite quickly. -

dont know how my username is of consequence to you or the entire forum but thanks for being judgemental on that basis

Budget?
lol yeah true, im just not well versed in the etiquitte of this forum i guess,
maybe im too used to co-operative friendly bmx forums where everyone recognises a common interest and the benefits that can bring
also im not sure how anyone new or even ignorant of thse bikes and the surrounding scene can hope to break in
i cant gain experience unless people are patient and allow me to learn
