no it wasn't french, the lady at the bike shop said when they have a UK stickers they have "standard" thread.
So I put on the shimano BB easily. I was lucky :-)
I will buy more cosmetic pieces like the seddle etc.
I'm selling now on eBay the carbon seatpost (that doesn't fit anyway) and maybe some other spare bits so i can get some money back :-)
