At the very least, it's proving to be extremely difficult, isn't it? Or have you already switched to using solar panels to power all your electronics at home?

It's far more than "solar panels" I'm afraid, we need a global change in social structure, an increase in subsistence farming and a change in attitude to consumerism and high capitalism.
It bother me when people make blanket and dismissive statements about it being "too late" or "not worth bothering" or as you said "impossible"
It has nothing really to do with communism, nor is it anarchy Vs capitalism, it's about society's responsibility. starting at street level, not government level.
Anyone interested in this sort of thing could do worse than to watch The power of community, about how Cuba survived their peak oil crisis.
