I agree that most hxc bands are terrible today. The "scene" has been destroyed by people who look exactly like the one pictured, and that is hilarious. I am going to see this band Ruiner tomorrow night at the Underworld. I would rather see more indie bands than anything else though.

I have been told to go to clubs/bars in SoHo.

my mate told me he saw a good film about hxc called american hardcore, but i still havent seen it.

I haven't seen the movie, but I have the book. It is interesting, but it only talks about the original hxc scene from the 80's and early 90's. It does not go into any detail of the revival of hxc and the changes that have come about since the 80's.

I was scarred mentally after reading that many hxc men in the 80's would do sexual favors to other men for drugs, then after that they would go beat up gay people to make them feel better about what they did. haha

I wouldnt bother with Soho. If you wanna see indie bands or at least some ok bands check white heat at madame jojo's on a tuesday night in Soho, Old Blue Last has bands pretty much every night of the week, Catch on Kingsland Rd pretty much the same. However much people on this forum slag it off if you wanna be around young people in some fun pubs/clubs with decent music then head east and you'll find loads of places round there.

Ruiner should be a pretty good show as long as people actually turn up, Hardcore in london is pretty dreadful. Pelican and Torche are playing the same venue soon which should also be good if you like that kinda thing.
